Bellroy Venture Ready Sling 2.5 Liter Review
I. Introduction
Bellroy Venture Ready 2.5 in Midnight
While I love my Tumi Slings, they aren't perfect. In my search for the perfect sling, I have come across the Bellroy Venture Ready Sling 2.5 liter. Full disclosure I bought the bag with my own money. I have been using the Venture Ready Sling for over a month now and it is my daily carry bag. It is pretty slim but can fit a decent amount. However, the search for the perfect bag continues as there is one fatal flaw that I cannot get over.

II. Design and Build Quality
The design of the bag is pretty great, I love the front pocket as it can hold my keys as well as my airpods. The middle Pocket is a bit slim but has a dedicated phone sleeve/divider. The rear pocket is spacious and holds a good amount if the item is slim. The material used is a unique blend of durable water-resistant fabric made from recycled materials. If I were to describe the feeling it would be like a mix of ballistic nylon and x-pac.
The Bellroy Venture Ready sling ca2.5 liters of storage and Bellroy does a good job with its organization especially compared to my tumi navigation pack. the front pocket is much larger with good division and can hold more than my keys. The middle organization allows me to divide my goods within the bag which can be good or bad depending if the items are thicker. There is also a slip pocket for sunglasses but don't feel comfortable putting sunglasses in there with items.
Comfort wise the Bellroy is great, it slips around my shoulder and can be worn on the chest as well. The strap is easily adjustable but people do not like fidlock as the sole method of clip release. They say the bag can fall off but I have worn this on escooter for 10 miles and that was never an issue. Weight is distributed well but sometimes have to switch shoulders.
In terms of how I use this bag, when I am not bringing my laptop or tablet I and simply need to carry a battery bank, keys, wallet, airpods this is nearly the perfect bag. I do find myself wanting to use slim EDC as it keeps the shape of the bag better. It is a lightweight bag weighing about 200 grams unpacked. I do find that if I put my phone and battery in the main compartment it fills up quickly. However, I have even managed to fit a can of belly soda in the main compartment too. I like to take my magsafe wallet off and put in the back compartment. Access is easy for this bag and the zippers work well, but there is one huge flaw and I can't explain why Bellroy would choose to do things this way.
The main benefit of using this bag is the organization, I put my keys and airpod pros in the front, the battery in the main compartment, and the wallet in the back sleeve. There is no space for water bottle if that is important you. I like the organization but may have trouble adding a pouch for better organization. There is even a dedicated air tag slip pocket.
The bag is very durable, the recycled material they used has strong stitching and I am very rough with my bags. Style wise I like the way the bag is shaped and proportioned. I would have appreciated a grab handle, however. The bellroy logo is pretty small but right in the front for looks.
The bag retail price is 90 dollars and I waited a year or two before I bought it for about 80 dollars. I probably should have just got it at launch as it has gone out of stock several times.
Some alternatives to the Bellroy would be the Aer City Sling 2 which i have in xpac(i do not like this bag the fidlock cuts but the organization awesome). The bellroy is a better bag in my opinion. The price does justify the features and quality as Bellroy knows what they are doing and have been market leaders in everyday carry.
Pros of the bag are the design, materials and organization.
Cons are can fill up quickly and the zippers are super weird on the main compartment like both ends move all the way.or limitations.
Overall the Bellroy is a great bag and my everyday carry. I do wish they had more zip closed compartments inside the main compartment and the two way zippers are weird. This bag is good for running to the store and running errands, maybe even the airport. However due to size limitations would not be able to carry even Ipad mini.
